How December 2025 Compares to December 2023–2024

RCR|HUB began formally tracking Shakers & Movers activity in April 2023, giving our RCM CommUnity a multi‑year view of leadership mobility across the Revenue Cycle. The December 2023 report included over 50 leadership moves, primarily concentrated in:

  • Director, Senior Director, and Manager‑level roles

  • Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, Financial Operations, and mid‑Revenue Cycle leadership

  • A mix of hospital, specialty care, dental, behavioral health, and ambulatory organizations

Most transitions reflected role specialization and operational depth, teams strengthening leadership across core functions such as billing operations, appeals, analytics, performance oversight, and site‑level or regional operations.

December 2024
December 2024 recorded 31 leadership moves, with activity still weighted toward:

  • Director and Senior Director roles

  • Operational and functional leadership positions

  • Some expansion into VP‑level scope

Compared to 2023, the movement trended slightly more consolidated but remained largely grounded in operational leadership layers.

December 2025
This December, RCR|HUB recorded 34 leadership transitions, with a noticeable shift in mix:

  • Higher concentration of VP, SVP, CRO, and system‑level leadership roles

  • Increasing alignment between Revenue Cycle, managed care, finance, legal, and clinical revenue

  • Fewer purely lateral moves and more roles reflecting expanded scope and enterprise accountability

The trend over three years is clear: Revenue Cycle leadership continues to move upward in responsibility, breadth, and strategic influence, even as operational and director‑level roles remain foundational to performance.

What December Signals as We Head Into 2026

This month’s transitions continue the direction seen since 2023:

  • Expansion of enterprise‑level and multi‑facility Revenue Cycle leadership

  • Stronger emphasis on payer strategy, revenue integrity, and financial alignment

  • Growing integration between clinical operations and revenue performance

  • Increasing investment in consumer experience and patient financial navigation leadership

  • Continued strengthening of operational, analytics, quality, and delivery roles

The movement across our CommUnity reflects organizations preparing for 2026, with leaders who can guide strategically, automate, improve performance, align the workforce, and collaborate with payers across the enterprise.
