RFPs for Revenue Cycle Management, Unlocked

Why We Took the Lead for the RCM CommUnity

On May 24, 2024, I sent an email to a group of trusted friends and RCM professionals titled: “RFP, it’s for me!” We didn’t have a platform yet, just an idea, and a belief that the Revenue Cycle Management industry deserved better when it came to Requests for Proposals.

The message went out to people who know the struggle all too well: Alicia Hanson, Kevin Sleeper, Keith Eggert, Elliot Melement, Tom Henderson, Bill Eikost, Josh Robinson, Jason Thomas, and Bobby Rumer. Each of them had spent years navigating broken RFP workflows. We invited them to be part of a beta team that would help guide a new kind of solution, a centralized, digital-first RFP system designed specifically for RCM.

With support from Alicia and Kevin, and in partnership with developers Alfredo Ramirez and Nicholas Lopez of Prosal, we kicked off a series of strategic meetings. We covered it all: the inefficiencies, the tech potential, and how other industries had already digitized the RFP experience. For a brief moment, we believed we were building something that would change everything.

But in November 2024, Prosal announced it would cease operations by the end of the year.

And yet, the requests didn’t stop.

Even after the app shut down, our team kept receiving texts, calls, and messages:

“There has to be a better way.”

That was the moment we knew: this wasn’t just a good idea, it was a necessary one.

Why RCR|HUB Stepped Forward for RFPs

As a CMO, I remember how endless RFPs were. By 2016, I wasn’t just helping clients respond to RFPs I was helping them survive them.

We’d sit down with massive packets titled “RFP Questions and Qualifications” or “Company Profile & Overview.” By page 3, your eyes blurred. By page 21, your will to live dulled. And then came the attachments:

  • Epic client history

  • Disaster recovery plan

  • Early out and bad debt call scripts

  • Sample reports: Acknowledgement, Batch Track, Close & Return

It was exhausting, repetitive, and broken. And yet we kept doing it.

In 2019, Mike Simms, a longtime friend and RCM colleague, offered to help write a workflow to improve the process. Even then, we knew it had to be simplified.

We just didn’t have the infrastructure.

The Turning Point

Since then, countless RFPs and templates have landed in our inboxes. Each slightly different. Each demanding hours of unnecessary labor. Still no aggregator. Still no tool built for RCM.

Then, in April 2024, Colt Briner sent me a message:

“I still have to believe there's a business case here. EVERY vendor has been asking for an aggregator forever."

He’s right. And it was time.

That’s why our team moved forward with a new RCR|HUB feature, a centralized, real-time, curated list of revenue cycle RFPs.

It’s not fancy. It’s not full of fluff.

It’s a working list. Built by hand. Updated daily. Created for the CommUnity we serve.

RFP Access Is Coming to RCR|HUB

At RCR|HUB, we’re always listening to the needs of our CommUnity. One request has come up repeatedly from our business partners:

“Can you help us find healthcare RFPs?”

We’re excited to share that the answer is now: Yes.

We’re launching a members-only area featuring a real-time, curated list of revenue cycle RFPs built to streamline discovery and strengthen connections across the RCM space.

A Note of Gratitude to Our Provider Partners

While the RFP List was born out of business partner requests, it could never have taken shape without the insight and generosity of several provider leaders who stepped up to offer their experience.

In July 2024, we reached out to a trusted group of RCM professionals, leaders who were deeply familiar with RFP processes from the provider side. These individuals took time from their busy schedules to engage in thoughtful conversations about what works, what doesn’t, and what the ideal future could look like for vendor engagement.

Their perspectives helped shape what this platform has become.

With sincere appreciation:

  • Christy Pehanich, Geisinger

  • Amy Assenmacher, Corewell Health

  • Matthew Stojakovich, University of Miami Health System

  • Dawn Castro, Surgery Partners

  • Harold Mueller, BJC HealthCare

  • Chris Johnson, Atrium Health

  • Stephen Burr, CHRISTUS Health

Note: Some of these individuals may have since transitioned into new roles or organizations, but their input remains foundational.

Why RFPs in Healthcare Matters

RFPs are how healthcare organizations initiate partnerships, whether for coding audits, billing technology, denial management, or vendor evaluations. But these opportunities are often:

  • Buried in hard-to-find portals

  • Scattered across dozens of procurement sites

  • Missing entirely from public view

We took on the challenge of pulling it all together.

Our research team verifies and updates the list daily. We’re currently tracking over 700 hospitals, and the number is growing weekly.

What Business Partners Will See

Each listing includes:

  • Health System Name

  • Primary Website

  • RFP / Supply Chain URL

  • RFP Page Exists? (Yes/No)

  • Manual Notes (Hospital Type, State, Rankings, and more)

This is a working, real-time list continuously refined by our team and strengthened by CommUnity feedback.

How Providers Benefit Too

This initiative isn’t just for business partners.

Providers and supply chain teams are encouraged to share their RFP portals and vendor registration links to build a better-aligned, easier procurement process.

Who Gets Access

Business Partners:

  • Access via monthly membership

  • $99/month for unlimited access to the live, curated database

Providers:

  • Access is free

  • Upload RFP links and streamline vendor discovery

Why The HUB Matters

RCR|HUB is a living resource where providers and business partners connect more easily and meaningfully.
