What are the options for recertification?
The options for recertification include two main paths to retain the CRCS certification designation. The first option is to retake and successfully pass the entire exam every three years. This means that individuals would need to demonstrate their knowledge and skills by passing the exam on a regular basis to maintain their certification. The second option is to become a national member before the certification expiration date and earn continuing education units (CEUs). It is important to note that the accumulation of CEUs starts from the date of joining as a national member. Any CEUs earned before joining AAHAM as a member will not be considered eligible. To maintain the certification designation, members must earn and report a total of thirty hours of CEUs before their certification expiration date. Out of these thirty hours, fifteen must be obtained from attending AAHAM-related educational programs. It is crucial to actively participate in these programs to ensure a well-rounded and up-to-date understanding of the industry. Failure to maintain membership and earn the required CEUs will result in the revocation of the certification designation, prohibiting individuals from using the designation any longer.
